Advice
We are a small group, about 30 clients, 14 volunteers and 1 paid member of staff (our physiotherapist). All duties at
the centre are taken on by these volunteers.
We are open from 8 to 5 on Mondays and Tuesdays a Wednesday morning
with dives being timed to suit the individual, although dives can be
scheduled on evenings or other days to suit clients.
We charge only 5 pounds for any
treatment session which has only increased once since the centre opened in
October 1985, we always try to keep the cost to the client as little as possible.
The first introduction is to the physiotherapist, who assesses each newcomer and
advises on their treatment. There are two physiotherapy suites equipped with adjustable
beds and electric tilt table.
About two thirds of clients take up her advice to try HBO and most
find it helpful and continue with it.
The chamber can hold 3 at a time but usually runs
less than full.
We also offer reflexology and aromatherapy, sell Promile (Evening primrose
and Marine fish oils), and give advice
and support to patients and their carers.
